The National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives is the largest collection of historic roller coaster vehicles, memorabilia and more in the world.

The collection is located in Plainview, Texas.

Through a gracious donation from Larson International, the museum was gifted land and labor costs to construct the facility there.

The museum’s organization was founded back in 2009.

Jeff Novotny (Chairman), Gary Slade (Past Chairman), Carole Sanderson (Secretary), Hunter Novotny (Treasurer), Ed Hiller, Chris Gray, Robert Ulrich, Pete Owens, Richard Munch, Tom Sheehan and Walt Bowser.

With such a rich history and continuing popularity spanning over 150 years, the roller coaster has still endured to remain king of the midway. As such, its story should be told and preserved for future generations to learn about and appreciate.

While the museum is still under construction, we cannot be open continually to the public. However, we do hold special events throughout the year for fans to attend. Be sure to check our social media accounts for the latest updates.

Yes! While the museum is not complete, we do offer the opportunity to rent out the unfinished space for special events, celebrations, gatherings or more. Contact us via social media for more information.

The museum will fully open once fundraising allows us to complete construction.

Ride manufacturers, suppliers, park operators and fans have all contributed to the museum’s mission of preservation.

In addition to financial contributions, the museum has received souvenirs, artifacts, ride vehicles and even full track sections from past and present attractions.
